Install and connect

  1. Unzip the download and move Patterlane.app into Applications. macOS may require its standard approval flow for an unsigned app. A signed/notarized release is not available yet.
  2. Open Patterlane and choose Connect my account.
  3. For eligible Gmail accounts, enable 2-Step Verification and create an app password named Patterlane. For iCloud, create an app-specific password in your Apple Account.
  4. Enter the generated app password in Patterlane on your computer. Never enter your normal Google or Apple password.
  5. Sync your inbox, then send a test message to an address you control.

What you can use

Read and search recent email, compose and reply, download received attachments, create local to-dos, manage a local calendar, export events and optionally connect a downloaded local Ollama model. Credentials and cached mail are kept in an OS-encrypted vault on your computer.

Compatibility

Gmail app-password availability depends on account policy. Some work/school accounts and Advanced Protection accounts cannot connect through this beta. iCloud and compatible TLS IMAP/SMTP accounts are supported by the engine but still require target-device/provider testing. Outlook sign-in, Windows/Linux installers, calendar-provider sync and auto-updates are not available in this release.

Verified so far

Automated interface and engine tests, protocol tests against local TLS mail fixtures, and packaged-file checks. Native Mac startup, OS keychain behavior, live Gmail/iCloud interoperability and real local-model inference remain unverified.
